Keene, N.H.--The Clark University Women's Cross Country team placed 3rd out of 5 teams in the 2018 Keene State Invitational. The meet took place on Saturday afternoon in New Hampshire with the host team claiming the top overall score (21 points). Colby-Sawyer's 57 points led them to a 2nd place finish, besting the Cougar's 64 points in the meet.
Nicolina Braccio (Nashua, NH) set the tone for the Cougars, posting a finsihing time of 20:37.1 for 8th place individually. Her teammate Meghan Davinroy (Louisville, CO) had a great race, finishing 11th overall at the time of 20:47.1. The third best time for Clark was posted by Senior Liza French (Middleborough, MA), who finished the course at 21:09.3.
Keene State's women's team claimed five of the top seven individual times, separating themselves from the pack early on. Junior Lauren Perkowski and sophomore Laura Dobson led the Owls this weekend, finishing first and third overall respectively. Allisom Fairbairn of Colby-Sawyer was the top finisher for her team, placing 5th. With a total of 112 team points, Fitchburg State finsihed fourth and were led by Senior Amy Kelly. Coming in fifth on Saturday was MCLA who's best time came from Julie Gambill.
Clark University travels to Westfield, MA for the James Earley Invitational next weekend. On Saturday Oct. 6th, the meet kicks off at 12:00PM from Stanley Park.
