Boston, Mass. – Clark University women's cross country rising star Nicolina Braccio (Nashua, N.H.) has been named the New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) women's cross country runner of the week it was announced on Monday by the league office.
Braccio, who has had an incredible start to her collegiate career, finished in 20th place at the Saratoga Invitational with a blistering time of 18:50 over the 5K layout.
That time is not only the fastest of her young career, but is the second fastest time in school history behind only Sarah Pierce's time of 18:21 set at the Shacklette Invitational in 1998.
Braccio has been the Scarlet and White's top finisher in all four of her events thus far, which includes three top ten finishes – one of which was a second place effort at the Smith College Invitational.
Up next for the Cougars and Braccio is the James Earley Invitational on Saturday at Stanley State Park in Westfield, Mass.
