-The Lead: The Clark Cougars won the first, third, and fifth sets on their way to defeating the Westfield State Owls. This was both teams' opening matches at the Trinity Invitational. With the win, Clark gains their second victory on the season and looks to grab momentum heading into their last day at the tournament.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS
-Clark received standout performances from a few of their players and created early confidence with their first set win. Sophia Torino (Los Angeles, CA) led the Cougars with 36 assists on the night to go with her 21 digs. Torino's teammate Marimo Oka (Fukoka, Japan) accounted for 38 digs herself. Leading the way in kills for Clark was Cameron Gill (Shrewsbury, MA) with a game high of 19. Sophomore Paige Kacherian (Rowley, MA) was on top of her game and had four key blocks at the net. The Cougars had some impressive stats in this match, but a well balanced attack ultimately landed them the win over Westfield.
