Hartford, CT...The Clark University women's volleyball team fell to ECONN 3-2 in the second half of the Trinity College Invitational. The Warrios fought back from a 2-0 deficit to stun the Cougars in five sets. The Cougars won the first two games (25-21, 25-19) before dropping the last three (17-25, 17-15, 9-15). Clark fell to 3-2 and ECONN stayed undefeated at 6-0.
Senior Marina Ramos (Guaynabo, Puerto Rico) and junior Ana Mercado (Guaynabo, Puerto Rico) led the way for the Cougars's offense with 20 and 19 kills respectively. Ramos added 27 digs while junior Rayme Quiban (Seattle, Wash) had another solid match with 29 digs. Junior Rachel Webb (Celina, Texas) had a team-high 24 assists.
The Cougars are back in action in their final game of the Trinity Invitational against the host Bantams at 12 p.m.
