Beverly, Mass. – For the second consecutive season, Clark University will have a senior participating in the New England Women's Volleyball Association (NEWVA) Senior Classic. Mia Cattaneo (Santa Barbara, Calif.) has been selected to participate in the one day event held at Tufts University it was announced on Monday morning.
Sponsored by Adidas and The Graphic Edge, will take place on Sunday, December 4 beginning at 11:00 a.m. with a skills competition and will be followed by the all-star match at 1:00 p.m.
Cattaneo is a two-time New England Women's And Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) second-team all-conference honoree who emerged as one of the region's best defensive players during her four years.
She help the Cougars to four postseason appearances and two trips to the NEWMAC Championship match and the program's first berth in the NCAA Tournament.
Earlier this season she became the school's all-time leader in digs and ended her career with 1,769. In each of the past two seasons she established single season marks for digs in a season. First, in 2015, she registered a then school record 484 but she followed that up with an even better campaign in 2016, racking up a new benchmark of 525.
