New London, Conn.- Sophomore Kelsey DePorto had five kills and a season-high 12 blocks while junior Catherine Walker added five aces and five blocks as Coast Guard ran its win streak to four with a 3-0 win over Clark in a New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) match.
The Bears won by game scores of 25-11, 25-15, 25-18.
In the first game, Walker served ten straight points as the Bears scored 11 straight turning a 13-9 lead into a 24-9 advantage and won the opener 25-11.
Coast Guard started quickly in the second game jumping out to a 10-3 lead, extending the advantage to 15-5 before winning 25-15.
Clark fought hard in the third game trailing just 11-10 before the Bears used an 8-2 run to take control with a 19-12 lead and closed out the match with a 25-18 win.
Junior Karen Matic had five blocks and 15 assists while junior Keriann Mason and freshman Kelsey Hickle each added six kills in the win.
Senior Amira Tranchell (Falmouth, Mass.) led Clark (8-13, 3-4) with eight kills while freshman Kaitlyn Stuck (Barnstable, Mass.) led the way with 13 digs and senior Kortney Kelley (Barnstable, Mass.) added 11 digs for the Cougars.
Clark will return to the court for a tri-match on Saturday featuring UMass-Dartmouth and Keene State.
