Worcester, Mass.--In their last home match in their Clark University jerseys, the seniors played their hearts out and left it all on the court today. Unfortunately, the positive energy at Corash Courts wasn't enough for the Cougars to get the win. The Women's Tennis team was defeated by Emerson this afternoon, 9-0.
-Skulsky fell in straight sets in the No. 1 singles match, 6-0 and 6-1.
-Gates played hard in the No. 2 match but couldn't come out with a victory. She lost in two sets, 6-4 and 6-1.
-In another close match, Emerson won the No. 3 match-up. Clark's Garfield lost the first set in a tiebreaker, 7-5. The second set went to her Emerson opponent, 6-2.
-Elizabeth Tchantouridze (Northfield, VT) competed in the No. 4 spot today. She lost to her counterpart in straight sets.
-Senior Captain and two sport athlete, Maggie Tarbox (Lebanon, CT) played in the No. 5 match today. She lost both sets by a score of 6-3. The senior leaves behind a great legacy of leadership on and off the court.
-Kaylyn Landahl (Brookfield, IL) was today's other senior captain who was celebrated. She fell in her No. 6 match in straight sets, 6-1 and 6-2. Landahl's dedication to her team and teammates will be missed next season.
-Clark's last match of the season is next Tuesday, April 23rd. They travel to Springfield College for a 4:00PM match-up.
-Emerson's next match is on the same day as Clark's, but the Lions travel to Wellesley College for their 4:30PM contest.
