Clark Loses In NEWMAC Match-Up Against Babson

The Clark Women's Tenns team fell 9-0 to Babson yesterday afternoon. Clark slips to 2-10 on the season, still three matches to go on the year. With the next two of those being at home, the Cougars are looking to get back on track and end the year on a high note. 

 

Singles:

-Jillian Skulsky (Marshfield, MA) was defeated in straight sets by her No. 1 counterpart. 

-Getting the point for Babson at No. 2 was Nastasia Tamarkin, claiming victory over Anna Gates (North Scituate, RI) in two sets. 

-Elizabeth Garfield (Cape Elizabeth, ME) couldn't get by her opponent in the number three match. Babson took that match-up 6-1 and 6-0. 

-Clark's Elizabeth Tchantouridze (Northfield, VT) competed hard but fell in her No. 4 match in straight sets. The sets finished 6-2 and 6-1.

-Senior Captain Maggie Tarbox (Lebanon, CT) had a good match going in the No. 5 singles position, but ended up losing in two sets. Mary Kille for Babson took the match 6-3 and 6-2.

-Lily Meadows (Bradenton, FL) fell in straight sets as Babson claimed all of the singles matches.

Doubles:

-Tchantouridze and Chloe Dunnell (Montclair, NJ) were defeated 8-0 in the No. 1 doubles match. 

-Clark duo Gates and Eugenia Cojocaru competed in the No. 2 doubles spot. They lost their match 8-0. 

-Zahara Shidad (Lewiston, ME) and Kaylyn Landahl (Brookfield, IL) represented Clark in the No. 3 match. That match-up ended 8-0 in Babson's favor. 

 

Up Next: 

-Clark has a home match on Tuesday, April 16th against Mount Holyoke. The match will be at Corash Tennis Courts at 4:00PM. 

-Babson takes their 9-4 record to Wheaton for an away match on Tuesday, April 16th at 4:00PM.
