HOW IT HAPPENED
-Junior Allison Reiling earned a 7-5, 6-3 victory over Isabelle Long (Bellevue, Wash.) to earn a point for the Crusaders at No. 1 singles.
-Freshman Katya Martin earned a win at No. 2 singles, defeating Jillian Skulsky (Marshfield, Mass.) 6-2, 6-1.
-At No. 3 singles, senior Katie Elia defeated Anna Gates (North Scituate, R.I.) by a score of 6-0, 6-3.
-Junior Morgan McGuire earned a victory at No. 4 singles, winning by a score of 6-1, 6-2 against Elizabeth Garfield (Cape Elizabeth, Maine).
-At No. 5, junior Jennifer Kary defeated Katie Benson (Huston, Mass.) by a score of 6-0, 6-1.
-Junior Caroline Kam earned a perfect victory at No. 6 over Elizabeth Tchantouridze (Northfield, Vt.) 6-0, 6-0.
-Holy Cross also earned a point in doubles play after sweeping all three matches. Reiling and McGuire won 8-2 at No. 1, while the duos of Martin with Elia, and Kam with senior Meghan Lewis both won 8-0.
