North Dartmouth, Mass. - The Clark women's swimming and diving team came away with a big win at Umass Dartmouth on Friday night. The Cougars beat the Corsairs by a score of 145 to 112 with 8 different Cougars getting on the winners podium. The night started with a bang as Clark took the win in the first event the 400 Yard Medley Relay behind the stellar effort of Quinn Mitchell (West Hartford, Conn), Amelia Muratori (Southbury, Conn), Olivia Winters (Maplewood, NJ), Allison Dubick (Cornwall, NY). They finished a full 20 seconds ahead of their competitors with a time of 3:23.48.
In the very next event, Alison Falder (New Milford, Conn), earned the W. She finished the 1000 Yard Free with a time of 11:41.56. Her nearest competitor, Tara Clark from Umass, finished with a time of 12:22.61. Falder earned her second win of the night in the 500 Yard Free with a time of 5:48.84. Alissa Hall from Umass took second in the event with a time of 6:0.12.
Mitchell got in on the fun in the third event winning the 200 Yard Free with a time of 2:11.96. Mitchell earned her second win of the event with a first place finish in the 50 Yard Fly and a time of 28.13.
Mira Siewert (Westbrook, Conn) joined her teammates on the winners podium with a time of 33.68 in the 50 Yard Breast. Siewert got her second win of the night in the 100 Yard Breast with a time of 1:14.28.
Anna Gilmartin (East Quogue, NY) took top place in the 3 mtr dive, with a final score of 142.45.
Dubick took a win on the night shutting out the competition in the 100 Yard Free with a time of 59.04. The team of Siewert, Dubick, Muratori, and Falder took first place in the 800 Yard Free Relay. They finished with a time of 8:45.53.
The Cougars will return to the pool on Thursday, January 10th at Wheaton College.
