Women's Swimming and Diving Takes Seventh After Day 2 of NEWMAC Championship

Cambridge, Mass.--The Clark University women's swimming and diving team placed seventh overall at the conclusion of the second day of the New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) Championships on Friday. Clark has a combined 113 points through event 14 of the Championship.

Senior Charlotte Gray (Sandy Hook, Conn.), juniors Amelia Muratori (Southbury, Conn.) and Quinn Mitchell (West Hartford, Conn.), and freshman Allison Dubick (Cornwall, N.Y.) swam the women's 200 yard freestyle relay in 1:41.96 to kick start the day with a 7th place finish in the first event.

In the 50 yard freestyle "B" final Muratori touched the wall in 25.21.

Freshman Mira Siewert (Westbrook, Conn.) along with Dubick, Mitchell and Muratori took seventh place out of 10 teams in the "A" final of the 400 yard medley relay with a time of 4:10.17. They shaved 15.63 seconds off of their prelim time.

Clark returns to the MIT pool on Saturday. Events include the 400-IM, 100-fly, 200-free, 100-breast, 100-back and 200-medley relay. Prelims begin at 10:00 a.m. and finals start at 6:00 p.m.
