Clark In 8th Place Heading Into Final Day

Worcester, Mass. – Quinn Mitchell (West Hartford, Conn.) continued her personal assault on the school record book, leading the Clark University women's swimming and diving team as they remain in eighth place at the 2017 NEWMAC Championships on Saturday afternoon.

Mitchell absolutely obliterated the school-record in the 100-yard butterfly with her performance in the finals. She shaved nearly two seconds off the old record held by Jaime Armstrong, finishing fourth in 57.92.

400-Yard IM
Karina Urquhart
(Sanford, Maine) took top honors in the "B" Final registering a time of 4:47.36. That gives her two of the top three times in the event in school history.

200-Yard Freestyle
Orzechowski, who was second in the event a season ago, nearly broke her own school record in her fourth place finish. She touched the wall in 1:53.99 the second fastest time in school history. 

100-Yard Breaststroke
Niki Lew (Auburndale, Mass.) just missed out on the "B" Final with her time of 1:12.01. Lara Prosterman (San Francisco, Calif.) also participated in the event, finishing with a time of 1:14.36.

200-Yard Medley Relay
The Clark foursome of Orzechowski, Urquhart, Mitchell and Amelia Muratori (Southbury, Conn.) reached the podium with the second fastest time in school history (1:52.09).
