Women's Soccer Battles Endicott to Extra Time, Fall in 92nd Minute

WORCESTER, Ma. – The women's soccer team suffered a 2-1 overtime loss when they traveled to Endicott on Saturday evening.

Clark, who played Endicott to a tie in double overtime a season ago, currently sits at 3-2 overall and 2-1 at home. Endicott improves to 4-1 on the season. 


-With only a minute left before the first half expired, the Gulls got on the board with a shot from Jaymie Caponigro, despite Clark holding a slight advantage in shots and corner kicks. 

-Clark came out on fire in the second half, doubling up the Gulls in shots and corners. Their tenacity paid off when Haley Berkowitz (West Hartford, Conn) scored the Cougar's lone goal on the night at the 73:13 mark to tie up the game, and force the overtime period.

-With only two minutes expired in overtime, Endicott's Catherine Eikas took a shot that found the back of the net behind keeper, Morgan Small (Quakertown, Penn).


-Clark out-shot its opponent by a wide margin, racking up twenty shots to Endicott's twelve, and nine of those shots landed on goal. Danielle Black (Middleboro, Mass) led the way for the Cougars with two shots on goal.

-Small recorded six saves, and Berkowitz tallied her first goal of the year.

-The Cougars nearly doubled up the Gulls on Corner kicks with twelve to Endicott's seven.


Clark travels to Umass-Dartmouth Tuesday for a 7PM matchup.
