-The Lead: After 106 minutes of hard played soccer, the Clark University women's soccer team fell to New England Women's And Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) opponent, Wheaton College on Saturday afternoon.


-After a scoreless first half the Cougars got on the board four minutes into the second stanza when sophomore Inonge Kaloustian (Bowie, Md.) made her way up the middle and snuck a shot behind Wheaton goalkeeper, Alexa Barbagallo (Bridgewater, N.J.), for her fifth goal of the season and the 1-0 advantage.

-With just under 20 minutes to play in regulation Wheaton's Jaime Rattenni (West Greenwich, R.I.) tallied the equalizer when she headed in a cross from Kate Hopkins (Gorham, Maine) (1-1).

-After the first overtime period the two teams were still tied at 1-1. In the 106th minutes of play Wheaton's Kaylee Sye (Acton, Mass.) knocked home the golden goal on a cross from junior Nicole Moody (Dunstable, Mass.).


-Wheaton outshot Clark 26-12 (12-5 shots on goal).

-The Lyons were awarded seven corner kicks while the Cougars were awarded three.

-Junior Julianna Christy (Plainville, Conn.) made ten saves in net for Clark as she falls to 2-3 on the season.

-Barbagallo made four saves in the victory and improves to 9-3-1.


-Clark travels to Wellesley College for more NEWMAC action on Tuesday, October 16th at 3:00 p.m.

-Wheaton travels to Worcester, Mass. to take on WPI in conference play on Tuesday at 7:00 p.m.
