HOW IT HAPPENED

-Springfield got on the board first with 17:52 on the clock in the first half when junior Chrissy Conley (East Providence, R.I.) dished the ball to first year Kaleigh Dale (Mansfield, Mass.) at the top of the box and Dale found space at the bottom left of the net for the 1-0 advantage.

-With five minutes remaining in the first stanza the Cougars tied the game at one. Freshman Jamie Joseph (Cazenovia, N.Y.) found sophomore Danielle Black (Middleboro, Mass.) at the top of the goal box and she launched a shot that brushed the fingertips on Springfield goalkeeper, Iggy Inglese (Wolcott, Conn.), and fell into the net. The Cougars held the momentum heading into the halftime break as they rattled off three more shots before the clock hit zero.

-The Pride pulled ahead again 11 minutes into the second half when Dale ripped a shot that was originally blocked by Clark goalkeeper, Julianna Christy (Plainville, Conn.) but picked back up by Dale and put to the back of the net (2-1). Springfield added an insurance goal 18 minutes later when Dale knocked in her third goal of the game and ninth of the season when she dodged around Christy for the 3-1 advantage.

-Clark never let up and added a second goal when sophomore Taylor Barbieri (Glastonbury, Conn.) snuck her way behind Inglese at the 14 minute mark (3-2).

-The Pride responded just 30 seconds later when junior Mackenzie Luiz (Newington, Conn.) headed in a lifted pass from first year Heather Jennato (Hookset, N.H.) to the right side for the 4-2 final victory.
