Cougars Suffer Setback at MIT

-The Lead: The Clark University women's soccer team saw their three game winning streak come to an end in a setback to MIT in New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference action on Friday evening.

HOW IT HAPPENED

-After a scoreless first half the Engineers got on the board 18 minutes into the second stanza on a tally from freshman Karenna Groff (Weston, Mass.) that was assisted by junior Montanna Rielly (Los Angeles, Calif.). Reilly carried the ball up the right side and sent the ball in to Groff who was posted up in the middle of the box to direct the ball to the lower left corner for the 1-0 lead.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS

-Julianna Christy (Plainville, Conn.) made six saves in the setback for Clark. She falls to 2-1 on the season.

-Senior Lilly Mueller (Lakeville, Minn.) made two stops in the victory and improves to 8-2-1

-MIT outshot Clark 16-4 (8-2 shots on goal)

-The Engineers were awarded 10 corner kicks while the Cougars were awarded five.

UP NEXT

-Clark hosts Springfield College for their Alzheimer's Awareness game on Tuesday, October 2nd at 7:00 p.m.

-MIT travels to Mount Holyoke College on Saturday, October 6th for a NEWMAC contest at 2:00 p.m.
