Westwood, Mass.—The Clark University women's soccer team earned both Offensive and Defensive New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) Athlete of the Week accolades for the week ending September, 23rd. Sophomore Inonge Kaloustian (Bowie, Md.) was named the women's soccer Offensive Athlete of the Week while senior Rylee Simons (Weston, Fla.) earned the Defensive Athlete of the Week title.
In a 2-0 week for the Cougars Kaloustian tallied three points from a goal and an assist. She scored the golden goal in overtime to send Clark over UMass-Dartmouth, 2-1 on Tuesday and assisted on a last minute goal in Clark's 1-0 NEWMAC victory over Babson on Saturday.
Simons played a vital role in Clark's victories in the back line. She helped the Cougars secure a 2-1 overtime victory over UMass-Dartmouth and cleared the ball off the goal line in their 1-0 NEWMAC victory over Babson.
The Cougars host Elms College at Granger Field on Tuesday, September 25th at 7:00 p.m.
