Berube Named NEMAC Women's Soccer Defensive Athlete of the Week

Westwood, Mass.--Clark University sophomore, Sarah Berube (Wilmington, Mass.) earned her first New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) weekly award as she was named the Women's Soccer Defensive Athlete of the Week as announced by the conference office on Monday morning.

In a 2-0-1 week for the Cougars Berube led the defensive line. Clark allowed just one goal scored in three games and Berube recorded a goal when she tied the Worcester State game at 1-1 with a successful penalty kick. The Cougars went on to defeat the Lancers 3-1 on Saturday. The Cougars are now 3-0-1 this season.

Clark is back in action on Tuesday, September 11th when they travel to Curry College for a 6:30 p.m. contest. The team opens up NEWMAC play on Saturday, September 15th when they host WPI at 1:30 p.m. The women's soccer team will also celebrate their Alumni & Friends game following the NEWMAC opener.
