Women's and Men's Soccer Earn United Soccer Coaches Team Academic Award

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The Clark University Men's and Women's Soccer teams were awarded the United Soccer Coaches (formerly the NSCAA) Team Academic Award as announced by the association last week. The Team Academic Award recognizes exemplary performance in the classroom during the 2016-17 academic year. 

A total of 851 collegiate teams (301 men, 550 women) earned the Team Academic Award, including 215 schools who had both their men's and women's programs among the recipients. The NEWMAC saw seven institutions recognized; Clark (men's and women's), Babson (men's), MIT (men's and women's), Smith, Springfield (men's and women's), Wellesley and WPI (men's).

To be recognized for this honor a team must earn a 3.0 grade point average (GPA) or higher, during the 2016-17 academic year.

The Clark University Men's Soccer team received a cumulative 3.29 GPA while the Women's Soccer team boasted a cumulative 3.35 GPA to earn the accolades.
