Worcester, MA...The Clark women's soccer team erupted for 10 goals in their second victory of the season and a 10-0 win over Newbury. Eight different players scored for the Cougars and four first-years recorded goals. Sophomore Bailey Glenn (Middleboro, Mass.) and first-year Taylor Barbieri (Glastonbury, Conn.) each scored a goal less than a minute a part to give the Cougars an early 2-0 lead in the 16th and 17th minute respectively. Clark entered the half with a commanding 4-0 lead and an impresisive 36-0 advantage in shots.
Sophomore Sara Conroy (Clifton Park, N.Y.) scored just under two minutes into the second half to push the lead to 5-0. First-year Deanna D'Innocenzo (Medway, Mass.) finsihed off the scoring with back-to-back goals and her first goals of her career.
The Cougars finished the game limiting Newbury to zero shots. Newbury's Noelle Sass (Randolph, Mass.) recorded 21 saves in the loss. Sophomore Alison Carroll (Douglas, Mass.) did not make a save in her second shutout of the season.
Newbury is back in action in their home opener on Friday, September 8 at 5 p.m. Clark continues their busy week when they travel to Nichols College on Thursday, September 7 for a 4 p.m. start
