Worcester, Mass. – Graduate student Joanna Clark (Windham, Maine) was one of 20 Division III women's soccer athletes selected to play in the participate in the New England Women's Intercollegiate Soccer Association (NEWISA) Senior Bowl.
Due to an injury, Clark was unable to participate in the all-star event which took place on Saturday, December 4 at Merrimack College in North Andover, Mass.
"This is a tremendous honor for Jo," said Clark head women's soccer coach Joe Brady. "All of her hard work and dedication to her craft truly paid off and I think it's an excellent way to complete her collegiate career."
Clark goes down as one of the all-time great netminders in school history after finishing her career with 25 shutouts - the second-most in school history. She started all 71 games in her four year career and is one of only two four-time all-conference honorees in women's soccer school history with her second-team selection this season.
The Cougars advanced to the NEWMAC Tournament on three separate occasions with Clark in goal including a semifinal appearance in 2008.
In 2009, she posted eight shutouts en route to a first-team all-conference nod and All-New England honors.
During her final season, Clark registered a 1.22 goals against average and totaled five shutouts.
