Westwood, Mass.--Clark University women's basketball senior, Ogechi Ezemma (Hope Valley, R.I.) has been named the New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) Co-Offensive Athlete of the Week for the week ending January 13th. She shares the Offensive Athlete of the Week accolade with Babson's Payton Ouimette.
Ezemma led Clark to a 3-0 week in three NEWMAC victories over Wellesley, WPI, and Wheaton. She posted 46 total points and two double-doubles with 19 points and 15 rebounds in the victory over WPI and 16 points and 21 rebounds in the victory over Wheaton on Saturday. Ezemma notched her 1,000th career point at home on Saturday as she became the 22nd player in Clark Women's Basketball history to hit this milestone.
Ezemma currently leads Clark and is ranked third in the NEWMAC in rebounds per game with 11. She also leads Clark in scoring, averaging 12.5 points per game.
Ezemma was also named the Worcester Area College Basketball Association (WACBA) Co-Player of the Week this week alongside senior Ciara McKissick from Becker College.
Clark is back in NEWMAC action on Wednesday, January 16th at Coast Guard Academy at 7:00 p.m.
