Greenwood, IN— Clark University junior, Ogechi Ezemma (Hope Valley, R.I.) has been named to the 2017-2018 College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) Academic All-District Women's Basketball First Team. The CoSIDA Academic All-District Women's Basketball Team recognizes the nation's top athletes for their combined performances on the court and in the classroom.
Ezemma was also named to the New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) Academic All-Conference Team earlier in the week. Honorees for NEWMAC Academic All-Conference must have met the following criteria: earned a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.5/4.0 scale or 4.35/5.0 scale after the 2017 fall semester, achieved second year academic status at her institution, and been a member of the varsity team for the entire season.
First-team Academic All-District honorees advance to the CoSIDA Academic All-America Team ballot, where first-, second- and third-team All-America honorees will be announced in March.
The Women's Basketball Academic All-District teams are divided into eight geographic districts across the United States and Canada. The CoSIDA Academic All-America separately recognizes honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and College Division. The College Division includes all NAIA, Canadian and two-year schools.
