Boston, Mass. – Clark University junior sharpshooter Brooke Brennan (Weston, Mass.) has been named New England Women's And Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) women's basketball player of the week it was announced on Monday afternoon by league Executive Director Patrick Summers.
In the Cougars' lone game last week, Brennan registered a career-high 29 points, connecting on a career-best eight three-pointers as the Scarlet and White knocked off Worcester-area rival Anna Maria, 58-49.
She was 10-for-18 from the field, including going 8-for-12 from three-point land. In addition to her scoring, Brennan added seven rebounds, two assists and three steals in 36 minutes of action.
Brennan has enjoyed a standout season thus far, is averaging a career-best 20.2 points, good for third in the conference, while connecting on 47 percent of her three-point attempts.
She has reached double figures in all five contests this season and was named to the all-tournament team at the Worcester City Tournament earlier this year.
Brennan and the Cougars return to the hardwood on Wednesday when they open up conference action at Wheaton College.
