Boston, Mass. – For the second straight season, Clark University senior Maya Allen (Concord, Mass.) has been named to the New England Women's And Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) softball academic all-conference team it was announced by Executive Director Patrick Summers.
A management major with a 3.64 GPA, Allen was an all-conference performer in 2011 and started all 127 games of her career.
In order to be honored, student-athletes must have earned a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale or 4.35 on a 5.0 scale after the 2013 spring semester, achieved second year academic status at their institution, and been a member of the varsity team for the entire season.
Allen had a strong senior campaign, finishing with a .337 average while starting all 32 games at second base. She finished first on the team in runs scored (27), second in doubles (7), third in hits (34), at-bats (101) and walks (8).
She eclipsed the 100-hit plateau in early March and finishes her career with 125 and a .318 career batting average.
