Boston, Mass. – Clark University shortstop Alyssa Wright (Manchester, N.H.) has been named New England Women's And Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) second-team all-conference it was announced by Executive Director Patrick Summers.
The honor for Wright caps a stellar campaign that saw her transition from playing catcher as a freshman to moving to arguably the most demanding defensive position as a sophomore. She started all 32 games and hit .359, including a sizzling .424 during league games. She led the team in hits (37), assists (89) and finished second in on-base percentage (.405), RBI (18) and at-bats (103).
Wright was exceptional defensively, committing just two errors in 83 chances during league play.
She had 12 multi-hit games highlighted by a 4-for-4, three RBI performance against Wheaton College back in early April.
Her season ended with a ten-game hitting streak during which she hit .500 (18-for-36).
Through 60 games of her career, she has 65 hits and a .335 career average.
