Worcester, Mass.- On Saturday, the women's rowing team took part in the New England Rowing Championship on Lake Quinsigamond. Clark raced two boats in the events. The Varsity 8 boat put up a record time of 7:02.597 in their preliminary heat. Both Clark boats raced in the third level final against schools such as: Mount Holyoke, Amherst, Assumption, and Connecticut College.
In the Varsity 8 Final, Clark had a good fight, ultimately finishing in third place below UNH and Simmons with a time of 7:23.466. In the boat for Clark were: Sophie Spiliotopoulos (Arlington, Va), Halley Glier (Shelburne, Mass), 7: Emily Ladda (Farmington, Conn), 6: Ella Scott (Hope, Maine), 5: Grace Schiaffo (Florence, Mass), 4: Madison Hincher (Gorham, Maine) 3. Olivia Young (Crandford, N.J.) , 2: Cate Brown (Waban, Mass) and Emily Thibault (Williamsville, Vt).
In the Second Varsity 8, Clark finished with a time of 7:52.501. Kayla Rich (Billerica, Mass) 2. Shannon Reault (Tyngsboro, Mass), 1: Juliette Gale (Bedford, Mass)
Clark will race again on May 12th at the National Invitational Rowing Championship held on Lake Quinsigamond.
