Rowing Competes with Top Programs in the Country

Worcester, Mass.--The Clark University Rowing team competed in the Varsity Eight Heat 2, the 2nd Varsity Eight Heat 2, the Varsity Eight Petite Final and the 2nd Varsity Eight Petite Final on Saturday morning on Lake Quinsigamond. There was a consistent cross tailwind at 10-15 mph that day. On Sunday they were back on the lake in the morning for the Varsity Eight and 2nd Varsity Eight with WPI, Tufts, William Smith, and Skidmore. Over the two days Clark competed with four of the top fifteen rowing programs in the country. WPI was awarded the Bernie Brown Cup on Sunday for the first time in four years.

Clark finished the Varsity Eight Heat 2 on Saturday in 7:45.90 while the 2nd Varsity Eight Heat finished in 8:25.4. Clark rowed the Petite Final in a time of 7:47.23 and the 2nd Petite Final in 8:10.78. On Sunday, Clark placed 4th out of five in the Varsity 8 with a 7:34.49 finish, beating Skidmore who finished in 7:49.66. The 2nd Varisty 8 finished in 8:07.76.

Clark takes on the New England Women's and Men's Athletic Confernce Championship starting on Saturday, April 28th.
