Cougars Sweep Anchormen, 9-0

Worcester, Mass.- The Clark University Cougars move to 6-7 on the season after today's defeat of the Rhode Island College Anchormen. In the 9-0 sweep, the Cougars were the better team from the start of the match. RIC loses for the first time this season, slipping to 2-1 overall.

Singles:

-In the No. 1 singles position Max Schweitzer (West Hartford, CT) was spectacular in his 8-1 victory for the Cougars.

-Christian Ruebens (Chesire, CT) found his groove in his No. 2 match, winning 8-0 over Chandler Scott.

-Clark's Andrey Samodaev (Boca Raton, FL) won his close No. 3 match by a score of 8-6.

-For the Cougars, Alex Hattenbach (Wilton, CT) played well at the No. 4 spot and defeated his opponent 8-3.

-RIC's Mike Shea fell to Ian Levy (Needham, MA). The senior Cougar won the No. 5 match 8-3.

-To round out the singles matches, Josh Podolsky (Sudbury, MA) was the victor by a score of 8-3 in the No. 6 match-up.

Doubles:

-Jack Han (Bakersfield, CA) and his partner Andrey Samodaev cruised to a 8-0 victory in the No. 1 doubles match-up.

-Ruebens and Schweitzer won the No. 2 match for Clark. They defeated their counterparts 8-1.

-Cougar pair Jacob Malicky (South Egremont, MA) and Nathan Kapiloff came out on top in their No. 3 match-up. They won the match 8-3.

Up Next:

-Clark plays their rescheduled match against Regis on this coming Saturday. The home match on March 30th starts at 12:00PM.

-RIC also plays on this Saturday the 30th as they travel to Castleton for a 2:00PM match.
