Men's Tennis Suffers Loss to Lee University

Orlando, Fla. - Lee University improved to 5-2 on the season, beating Clark this morning 9-0. The Cougars were swept in the singles and doubles matches which took place at the USTA National Campus. Clark falls to 4-6 on the year.


-No. 1 Jack Han (Bakersfield, CA) was defeated by Lee's Jake Okines 0-6, 0-6.

-Antonio Pons took down Clark's Andrey Samodaev (Boca Raton, FL) in straight sets. Samodaev lost 0-6, 1-6.

-Also falling in two sets was Alex Hattenbach (Wilton, CT) of Clark. Daniel Prata won the No. 3 singles match 6-0, 6-1.

-Senior Captain Ian Levy (Needham, MA) was defeated by Cristian Pons. The No. 4 singles match finished in Lee University's favor 6-0, 6-1.

-Bruno Medeiros won the No. 5 match 6-0, 6-1. Jacob Malicky (South Egremont, MA) represented Clark in that match-up.

-Duncan Drapeau (Boothbay, ME) fell in straight sets 0-6, 0-6. Lee's Max Schroeder completed the sweep for the Flames by winning the No. 6 match.


-Han and Samodaev competed in No. 1 doubles for Clark this morning. They lost to Okines and Medeiros 6-0.

-For No. 2 doubles, Malicky and Hattenbach fell to Lee's Jesus Garcia and Pons. The score of that match was 6-0 as well.

-Clark's Levy and his partner Josh Podolsky (Sudbury, MA) were defeated 0-6 by their opponents Prata and Pons in the final doubles match-up.
