Orlando, Fla. - Coe College (IA) took down the Cougars in yesteday's late match, 8 to 1. The lone Cougars victory came in the No. 1 singles match as Coe swept the doubles match-ups. Coe moves to 6-3 on the season and the Cougars slide to 4-5 with two chances for a win today.
-No. 1 Nicholas Mathieu (Topsham, ME) got the best of Josh Pudlo in a three set match. The Clark sophomore won the competitive match, 1-6, 6-4, 1-0 (10-8).
-Coe's Nate Greiner was the victor of the No. 2 singles match-up. Clark's Max Schweitzer (West Hartford CT) was outscored 1-6, 1-6.
-In the No. 3 singles match, Jack Han (Bakersfield, CA) was defeated 1-6, 2-6. First-year Rami Hemaidan was the winner for Coe.
-Nate Ackert of Coe defeated Florida native Andrey Samodaev (Boca Raton, FL) 6-1, 6-3 in the No. 4 match.
-Jacob Malicky (South Egremont, MA) could not get the win at No. 5 singles. He was beaten by Ben Hediger 0-6 and 2-6.
-In the final singles match, Coe's Tyler Nelson came out on top. Josh Podolsky (Sudbury, MA) was taken down 1-6 and 0-6.
-Pudlo and Greiner for Coe defeated Clark's Mathieu and Schweitzer (8- 4) in the No. 1 match.
-In No. 2 doubles, Han and Samodaev for Clark were unable to get the win. They fell by a score of 0-8 to Ackert and Hemaiden.
-Clark has two matches today, March 4th. At 11:30AM they are against Lee and at 6:30 their opponent is Oneonta State.
-Coe has a two match day as well, starting at 10:00AM. Grand Valley State is their first opponent and they have Midway University at 5:00PM.
