Swimming and Diving Teams Celebrate Senior Day

Worcester, Mass.- On Saturday, the Clark University men's and women's swimming and diving teams celebrated senior day during a dual meet with Coast Guard at the Kneller Athletic Center. The Cougars ended up dropping both meets to the visiting Bears with a score of 157-69 for the women, and 156.5 to 74.5 on the men's side.

In the Men's 200 Yard Medley Relay, seniors Dylan Schrama (Taunton, Mass) Julian Ortega (West Palm Beach, Fla) Sebastian Ortega (West Palm Beach, Fla) and Noah Liscord (Wayne, Maine) touched the wall with a final time of 1.48.41

Konstantin Drallios (Astoria, NY), Nick Sakoff (New York, NY), and Brandon Shafer (Honeoye Falls, NY) touched the wall one, two, three, in the men's 100 Yard Breaststroke. Drallios finished first with a final time of 1:04.43

In the 200 Yard IM, Julian Ortega (West Palm Beach, Fla), swam a tight race finishing first with a final time of 2:04.33. In the 100 Yard Butterfly, Julian Ortega came in third with a final time of 55.60.

Rowan Moody (Ellington, Conn) took first place in the 3 meter dive with a score of 24.19. He finishing only a point ahead of Marshall Sequin from Coast Guard. In another tightly contested competition, Moody scored a 245.11 in the men's 1 meter dive, coming in second place.

In the 100 Yard Freestyle, Schrama came in third in with a time of 52.55.

Will Russell (Cumberland, Maine) placed fourth in the 100 Yard Backstroke. He touched the wall with a final time of 1:03.07

Eric Corbert (Newton, Mass) came in fourth in the men's 500 Yard Freestyle with a final time of 5:18.91.

In the final event of the day for the men, Clark took first place behind the efforts of Russell, Broderick, Finnegan, and Cobert in the 400 Yard Freestyle Relay.

On the women's side, senior Mira Siewert (Westbrook, Conn) took first place in the 100 Yard Breaststroke with a final time of 1:02.87, while teammate Elizabeth Cownie (Concord, Mass) came in a close second.

Allison Dubick (Cornwall, NY), Amelia Muratori (Southbury, Conn), Quinn Mitchell (West Hartford, Conn), and  Amelia Muratori (Southbury, Conn) had a hot start in the women's 200 Yard Medley Relay coming in second. They finished with a time of 2:02

In the women's 50 Yard Freestyle, senior Amelia Muratori (Southbury, Conn) took first place and posted a final time of 25.69 a full second over her nearest competitor from Coast Guard. Muratori also took third in the 100 Yard Freestyle with a time of 57.56. 

In the women's 200 IM, Alison Falder (New Milford, Conn), came in second with a time of 2:27.86.

Anna Gilmartin (East Quogue, NY) finished third in the 1 meter dive. She had a final score of 147.30. Gilmartin also took fourth place in the 3 meter dive. She tallied a final score of 151.19.

In the 100 Yard Butterfly, Quinn Mitchell (West Hartford, Conn) came in second out of a large field with a time of 1:01.73

In the 400 Yard Freestyle, Falder, Olivia Winters (Maplewood, NJ), Emma Bulman (Bridgewater, Mass), and Sydney Macedo (Kennebunk, Maine) came in first in the 400 Yard Freestyle relay with a finishing time of 4:26.25.
