Moody highlights Men's Swimming and Diving at Worcester City Championships

Worcester, Mass. - Men's Swimming and Diving competed in the second day of the Worcester City Championships on Saturday. Junior, Rowan Moody (Ellington, Conn) was awarded the Whit Griffith award, named after a legendary WPI Coach. The major award went to the best Male Diver at the meet, and was voted on by the coaches. In addition to his award, Rowan Moody also placed first in the 1 meter dive with a score of 352.80. He finished above divers from Division 1, Holy Cross, and NEWMAC opponent, WPI. His score was over 70 points higher than second place.

In the Men's 200 Yard Freestyle Relay, and finishing 7th with a time of 1:34.91 were Julian Ortega (West Palm Beach, Fl), Dylan Schrama (Taunton, Mass), Konstantin Drallios (Astoria, NY), Nick Sakoff (New York, NY). The same group came in sixth in the 400 Yard Freestyle Relay, with a time of 3:28.34.

Konstantin Drallios placed third in the 400 Yard IM in a 13 swimmer field. He finished with a time 4:36:39. His teammates Eric Cobert (Newton, Mass), Nick Sakoff, and Sebastian Ortega (West Palm Beach, FL) also swam in the race.

Matt Finnegan (Rutland, Mass) and Will Russell (Cumberland, Maine) took on the 200 Yard Freestyle. They finished with times of 2:05.03 and 2:10.27 respectively. 

Noah Liscord (Wayne, Maine) swam in 100 Yard Backstroke, finishing with a time of 1:08.55

With a time of 1:13.65, Brandon Shafer (Honeoye Falls, NY) was the lone Clark swimmer in the 100 yard Breaststroke. 

Placing fifth in the 200 Yard Butterfly, Julian Oretega, touched the wall with a time of 2:09.68. He had a strong showing the 100 Yard Freestyle finishing fifth out of a thirteen swimmer field with a time of 50.87. Julian also placed in the top five in the 100 Yard Butterfly with a time of 55.31.

In the men's 50 yard freestyle Dylan Schrama placed ninth and Noah Liscord placed thirteenth. 

Clark men placed sixth in the 200 Yard Medley Relay with a time of 1:45.32. 

Clark returns to the pool on November 10th at Bridgewater State.
