Worcester, Mass. – After Day One of the 2014 New England Women's And Men's Athletic Conference men's and women's swimming and diving championships, the Clark University men's team sits in seventh place with 54 points.
The Cougars finished seventh in the 800-yard freestyle relay with a time of 7:17.01. The foursome of Mickey Howe (Lincoln, R.I.), Eddie McCluskey (Hope, Maine), Vlad Kiveliyk (Southington, Conn.) and Jack Hall (McLean, Va.) was a little less than 13 seconds behind sixth-place Babson.
Event victors WPI, set a new pool record with a time of 6:48.96.
In the consolation finals, the Cougars' contingent of David Powers (Woodbridge, Conn.), Will Hurley (Swanville, Maine), Mark Crisafulli (Wayland, Mass.) and Tyler Terriault (Claremont, N.H.) turned in a time of 7:50.58.
The championship continues on Friday with a 10:00 a.m. early session and concluding with a 6:00 p.m. evening session.
