Munroe and Sheridan Earn NEWMAC All-Conference Honors

WESTWOOD, Mass. - With the conclusion of the 2018 New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) play, the league announced the 2018 Men's Soccer All-Conference and Postseason honors on Wednesday afternoon. Clark University junior Sean Munroe (Silver Spring, Md.) earned a spot on the NEWMAC All-Conference First Team while his classmate Trevor Sheridan (Massapequa Park, N.Y.) was named to the All-Conference Second Team.

Munroe led the Cougars and the NEWMAC in total goals this season with 11 and total points with 26. He was named the NEWMAC Offensive Player of the Week after tallying three goals and two assists for a total of eight points in the third week of the season.

Sheridan finished the season at the top of the conference in the assists category with seven and added four goals on the season to earn his spot on the All-Conference Second Team.

Sheridan and Munroe were also both named to the 2018 NEWMAC Academic All-Conference Team for their outstanding work in the classroom.

After an impressive season, the Babson men's soccer program swept the 2018 men's soccer major awards.Beavers midfielder Noah Parker was named the Men's Soccer Athlete of the Year, finishing the season tied for second in the conference in points with 20. A mainstay on the Beavers' backline, Babson defender Jackson Greenspan was named the Men's Soccer Defensive Athlete of the Year. Greenspan was a key part of the Beavers' 11 shutouts this season and tallied five assists. Babson defender Liam Hanlon earned the Men's Soccer Rookie of the Year honors, chipping in one goal and one assist. After leading the Beavers to their fewest losses since 2011 and the top seed in the NEWMAC tournament, Babson's Head Coach Jon Anderson was tabbed as the Men's Soccer Coach of the Year for the 10th time in his career.

The NEWMAC Men's Soccer All-Conference Team consists of a first team of 12 selections and a second team of 11 individuals that are voted on by the men's soccer coaches from the conference.
