Westwood, Mass.--Clark University junior men's soccer player, Sean Munroe (Silver Spring, Md.) has been named the New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) Men's Soccer Offensive Athlete of the Week for the week ending September 16th. The Cougars remain undefeated as they earned two more victories and a fourth shutout last week (6-0). The program currently ranks second in the nation for total goals scored in Division III with 33.
In the 2-0 week for Clark, Munroe tallied three goals and two assists for a total of eight points. He posted two goals and two assists in the Cougar's 6-1 victory over Framingham State before tallying a goal in their 3-0 shutout over Emerson to start the season with a 1-0 NEWMAC record. The Clark men's soccer team has now earned Offensive Athlete of the Week accolades for three consecutive weeks.
Munroe now leads the Cougars with 16 points from seven goals and two assists on the season. This week Clark travels to Bridgewater State University on Tuesday, September 18th for a 7:00 p.m. non-conference match-up. On Saturday, September 22nd they will celebrate senior day as they host Wheaton College in NEWMAC action at 1:00 p.m.
