Worcester, Mass.—Pat Oroszko '03 Day is a day that has become a tradition for the Clark University community. In June of 2016 former Clark University men's basketball player and assistant coach, Oroszko, passed away after a valiant battle with esophageal cancer. The day has been celebrated since December of 2016 in remembrance of the wonderful spirit he brought to the men's basketball program, the athletic department, and the entire Clark University community.
On February 10th, 2018 the Clark community came together again to honor Oroszko. The athletic department dedicated a bench outside of the Kneller Athletic Center in memory of Pat. Wonderful words were shared in his memory as his wife Courtney Oroszko '03, his childeren Allison and Ryan, Pat's family, former teammates, alumni and members of the Clark community gathered outside of the Kneller.
Oroszko was a four-year letterwinner for the Cougars and a two-time captain who also served as an assistant coach for seven seasons. During his playing career, he played on four straight NCAA tournament teams and made two consecutive trips to the Elite Eight.
