Worcester, Mass.--Freshman Biko Gayman (Fort Pierce, Fla.) was named the New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) Defensive Athlete of the Week as announced by the conference office on Monday afternoon.
Gayman had an impressive week for the Cougars boasting 23.5 points, 5.0 assists and 4.5 steals per game as they split their two games on the week. In a tough set back to Fitchburg State the Port Pierce native scored 11 points to go with his four assists and two steals before lifting Clark to victory over Newbury with 36 points, seven steals and six assists adding six boards.
Gayman averages 16.1 points per game for the Cougars and a team-leading 3.1 steals per game. He boasts a total of 145 points this season to go along with 40 assists, 28 steals and 23 rebounds.
The Cougars are back in action on December 29th at Salem State at 7:00 p.m.
