-The Lead: In second half comeback fashion the Clark University field hockey team improved their winning streak to four games with a 2-1 victory over the AMCATS of Anna Maria College on Tuesday night.
HOW IT HAPPENED
-Anna Maria got on the board first when sophomore Chayna Bingham-Hendricks (Mashpee, Mass.) dodged her way through Clark defenders and chipped the ball to the top left corner for the 1-0 advantage. The AMCATS held onto the lead for the remaining 20:40 of the first half and into the halftime break.
-Clark wasted no time as they put away a goal within the first three minutes of the second half. On a penalty corner opportunity freshman Emma Boland (Redding, Conn.) found sophomore Chase Collier (Lisbon, Maine) on the right post and Collier chipped the ball to the left post where senior Olivia Barksdale (Fort Washington, Md.) was there to bat it in (1-1).
-Ten minutes later the Cougars took their first lead of the game. Junior Julia D'Antonio (Ramsey, N.J.) sent the ball across the circle from the top right corner to Barksdale who was in the middle to sweep the ball to the lower left corner for the 2-1 advantage. Clark kept the offensive pressure on for the remaining 22 minutes of play and secured the 2-1 non-conference victory.
