Wheaton Pushes Past Field Hockey, 3-1

Norton, Mass. – Amelia Gage scored a pair of goals and host Wheaton College registered a 3-1 win over Clark University in New England Women's And Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) field hockey action on Saturday afternoon.

How It Happened:
Gage got the Lyon offense off and running when she broke through the Clark defense and found the back of the cage at 14:40.

The game stayed that way until midway through the second stanza when Katie Peters connected with Page for her second score of the afternoon in the 56th minute of action.

Clark did get on the board at 62:23 when Lauren Mackey (Dublin, N.H.) pushed home her second score in as many games – the 41st of her career.

Peters concluded the scoring when she tallied her seventh goal of the season with help from Michelle Connolly less than 30 seconds later.

Riley Thompson earned the win for the Lyons, making three saves, while Cougar backstop Dani Michaud (Providence, R.I.) turned aside eight shots in the loss.

Inside The Numbers:
The Lyons held slight advantages in both shots – 14-10 and penalty corners – 12-11.
