Boston, Mass. – Clark University midfielder Kiah Murphy (Westport, Mass.) has been named to the New England Women's And Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) field hockey second-team all-conference it was announced by Executive Director Patrick Summers on Wednesday afternoon.
Murphy was the Cougars' leading scorer in 2014, finishing with career-highs in goals (3), assists (10) and points (16). Her ten assists were not only tied for third in the conference but are the ninth-most in a single season in school history.
Not only an offensive force, Murphy totaled four defensive saves in her 16 games – good for third in the league as well.
Murphy ended her senior campaign with a flourish, assisting on goals in each of her last three contests before sitting out the season finale against Smith College with an injury.
In addition to Murphy's individual accolade, the entire team was awarded the league's Sportsmanship award for their positive actions on the field before, during and after contests.
