HOW IT HAPPENED

-Clark took an early lead with three runs in the top of the first inning. A single through the left side for junior Andrew Thibault (Nashua, N.H.) scored Lefebvre and Radovic for the 3-0 lead.

-With two outs on the board the Lions got one run back in the bottom of the second when first year Josh Cohen (Corte Madera, Calif.) singled through the left side to score Paladino (3-1).

-Clark extended their lead back to three when junior Nick Jordan (Seaford, N.Y.) singled through the left side, stole second, and eventually came home on a fielding error by the Lions for the 4-1 lead.

-Radovic got ahold of a pitch in the top of the fifth and put it over the center field fence to give the Cougars the 5-1 lead after five.

-Emerson rallied for two runs in each of the final three innings to come out with the one-run victory. Sophomore Ryan McCahan (San Jose, Calif.) singled to right center for two RBI in the bottom of the seventh to bring the Lions within two, 5-3. First year Quinton Copeland (Houston, Tex.) and senior CJ Rogers (Guilford, Conn.) both came home in the bottom of the eighth to tie the game at 5-5.

-Freshman Louie Davolio (Worcester, Mass.) led off the bottom of the ninth with a triple down the right field line for Emerson and came home on a wild pitch to even the score again, 6-6.
