Boston, Mass. – For the second season in a row, Clark University star infielder Kyle Bonicki (Waterbury, Conn.) has been named New England Women's And Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) First-Team All-Conference it was announced by the league office on Monday.
Bonicki had another standout season, helping the Cougars to their first postseason appearance since 2010 and setting a school record for wins in a season (26).
The shortstop sensation earned national recognition (D3Baseball.com Team of the Week) and regional honors (NEWMAC Player of the Week) during another record-setting individual campaign.
Bonicki finished the season ranked in the top ten in the NEWMAC in several statistical, including batting .391 (4th), scoring 50 runs (3rd), collecting 61 hits (3rd), smacking 20 doubles (1st), legging out seven triples (1st), swiping 12 bases (5th), posting an on-base percentage of .462 (5th) and a slugging percentage of .686 (3rd).
He had at least one hit in 33 of the 39 games this season, recorded 20 multi-hit games and had four separate hitting streaks of seven games or more.
In addition to those incredible numbers, Bonicki set single season school records in doubles (20), runs scored (50), at-bats (156) and total bases (107).
Overall, he holds school records for batting average (.402), hits (165), doubles (34), and on-base percentage (.482).
