Worcester, Mass. – The Clark University Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) announced their executive board members for the 2013-14 school year at their monthly meeting in September.
Men’s swimmer Josh Kent (Longmeadow, Mass.) will serve as President, taking over for Ryan King who served in that capacity in 2012-13.
The group has put on several successful events in the past, including Friday Night Lights and Midnight Mayhem.
Early last month, SAAC released their mission statement. It is as follows:
Our mission is to support and represent student-athletes in the athletic, campus, and surrounding communities. We strive to promote a positive image for athletics in all our communities while creating a unifying experience for all student-athletes.
In order to uphold our mission, SAAC must:
- Represent the student-athlete voice and facilitate dialogue at the departmental, coaching, and team levels.
- Organize and partner with groups both on and off Clark campus through community service leaving a positive and lasting impact.
- Utilize the shared passion of the athletic department and larger student body to build relationships that inspire a positive environment.
