Men 5th, Women 7th At Smith Invitational

Northampton, Mass. - Junior Joe Kennelly (New Windsor, N.Y.) was the Clark’s top finisher on the men’s side with a 19th place finish in the season-opening Smith College Invitational on Saturday morning on the Smith College campus.

Kennelly wrapped up the 5k course in 17:53 and was followed by teammate Martin Leggett (Easton, Pa.) in 36th place at 18:40.

On the women’s side, Erika Roth (Saco, Maine) crossed the line first for the Cougars on the 5k course with a time of 22:01, good for 28th place.

Zoe Greenberg (Arlington, Mass.) was Clark’s second runner to finish, completing the course in 22:10 (33rd place).

Both Cougar squads return to action on Saturday when they take part in the UMass-Dartmouth Shriner’s Invitational.
