Ramos Named League's Co-Player Of The Week

Boston, Mass. – Freshman Marina Ramos (Guaynabo, Puerto Rico) has been named New England Women's And Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) Volleyball Co-Player Of The Week it was announced on Monday afternoon by the league office.

The award for Ramos, which is shared with Wheaton's Deirdre Wilson, is the first time a Clark volleyball student-athlete has received the award since Maritza Fair '12 was honored during the 2008 season.

Ramos played a huge part in the Scarlet and White's first win over league rival Wellesley since 2004 when the Cougars rallied for a thrilling 3-2 win in their lone match of the week on Tuesday. She finished with match-highs of 17 kills and 17 digs - her ninth double-double of the year - helping Clark keep its postseason hopes alive.

The Cougars, who are 8-12 overall and more importantly, 2-5 in conference contests will travel to Wheaton to face Wilson and the Lyons (15-10, 4-3 league) in a crucial NEWMAC match on Tuesday, October 21.

First serve is slated for 7:00 p.m.
