Fair Honored By NEWVA
Clark senior Maritza Fair (The Bronx, N.Y.) has been named to the New England Women’s Volleyball Association (NEWVA) All New England Senior honorable mention it has been announced. Thirty-two seniors and 10 honorable mention seniors have earned the honor recognizing their contributions to collegiate volleyball in New England.

Cougars Swept Out Of Tournament By Wellesley, 3-0
Defending champion Wellesley got a double-double from Isabel Custodio and a match-high 11 kills from Elizabeth Campbell en route to a 3-0 win over Clark in the quarterfinal round of the New England Women’s and Men’s Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) volleyball tournament on Tuesday evening.

Visiting Clark extended its winning streak to five matches with a decisive 3-0 win over host Becker College on Thursday evening. Winners of eight of their last nine matches, the Cougars now sit at 13-10 and have assured themselves of their first winning season since 2001.

Powered by a monster double-double from Karen Matic (Oswego, Ill.) and 12 kills from Nicole Johnson (New Braunfels, Texas), visiting Coast Guard knocked off host Clark University, 3-0, in New England Women’s and Men’s Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) volleyball action on Tuesday evening.

On The Prowl - Cougars Sweep Tri-Match
Host Clark University posted a pair of dominating victories in two-non league matches on Saturday afternoon at the Kneller Athletic Center. The Cougars opened the day with a 3-0 win over Worcester-area rival Anna Maria and then knocked off regional power UMass-Dartmouth 3-0 later in the day to improve to 8-9 overall.

Visiting Clark collected a huge NEWMAC win with a thrilling 3-2 win over host Wheaton College on Tuesday evening at Emerson Gymnasium. With the win, the Cougars improve to 6-9 overall and 3-1 in conference play in advance of their tri-match on Saturday against Anna Maria and UMass-Dartmouth.

Visiting Connecticut College snapped a brief two-match slide with a 3-0 win over Clark University in non-conference volleyball action on Thursday evening at the Kneller Athletic Center. With the win the Camels improve to 10-5 on the season, while the Cougars slip to 5-9.

The Westfield State University women’s volleyball team swept Clark University, 3-0 (25-23, 25-21, 25-19) and Rhode Island College, 3-0 (25-16, 26-24, 25-20) in a home tri-match on Saturday, Oct. 2. In the other match, RIC rallied for a 3-1 (18-25, 25-21, 25-21, 25-23) victory over Clark.

The Clark University volleyball team dropped a pair of matches on Saturday at the Kneller Athletic Center. The Cougars opened the day with 3-0 loss to MIT, dropping their second NEWMAC game of the season. Their second match, a non-conference affair against Rivier College was also a 3-0 defeat.

Sophomores Bailey Sarber and Elyssa Dorenfeld combined for 19 kills to push WPI to a hard-fought 3-0 victory over visiting Clark Tuesday evening in the NEWMAC opener for both squads.

Cougars Claim City Title Behind MOP Kelley
For the second time in three years, Clark University has captured the Worcester City Volleyball Tournament. The Cougars knocked off host Assumption 3-1 in the opening match then defeated NEWMAC rival WPI in the title match. The win for Clark avenges the Cougars loss to the Engineers a season ago in the title match and snaps a brief two-game slide against WPI.

The Eastern Connecticut State University women’s volleyball team erased an early nine-point deficit in the second set on the way to a 25-22, 25-21, 26-24 victory over Clark University Tuesday night at Francis E. Geissler Gymnasium.
