Women's Tennis Collects NEWMAC Postseason Awards

Boston, Mass. – Three Clark University women's tennis student-athletes have been named to the 2016 New England Women's And Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) Academic All-Conference team it was announced recently by the league office.

Erica Issenberg (Shelburne, Vt.), Emily Shuman (Needham, Mass.) and Maggie Tarbox (Lebanon, Conn.) all received the conference's academic honor.

Honorees must have met the following criteria: earned a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.5/4.0 scale or 4.35/5.0 scale after the 2016 spring semester, achieved second year academic status at her institution, and been a member of the varsity team for the entire season.

In addition to those three honorees, Isabelle Long (Bellevue, Wash.) was named to the league's newly created all-sportsmanship team. The award is intended to recognize one student-athlete from each team, in every sport that best demonstrates the ideals of the NEWMAC and its Code of Conduct, regardless of his/her overall performance or statistics for the season.
