Cambridge, Mass.--The Clark University women's swimming and diving team finished 7th out of ten teams at the end of the third day of the New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) Championships at MIT on Saturday.
Junior Mira Siewert (Westbrook, Conn.) broke two school records in the 100 Breast and the 50 split in the same swim. She posted a final time of 1:09.66. Quinn Mitchell (West Hartford, Conn.) broke her own school record in the 100 Butterfly with a final time of 56.85, for third place in the event.
Allison Dubick (Cornwall, N.Y.), Amelia Muratori (Southbury, Conn.), Mitchell and Siewert earned Clark 6th place in the 200 yard medley relay with a time of 1:52.47. They placed ahead of Mount Holyoke, Babson and Smith.
MIT leads the field by 178.5 points with 866 points as Wheaton College is second with 687.5 points. Springfield sits in third at 507.5, along with WPI in fourth (474), U.S. Coast Guard Academy (409.5), Wellesley (302.5), Clark (182), Smith (180), Mount Holyoke (176) and Babson (144).
Clark returns to the pool at MIT on Sunday morning for the final day of the NEWMAC Championship. Events include the 1650-free, 200-back, 100-free, 200-breast, 200-fly, the 1-meter dive and the 400-free relay. Prelims begin at 10:00 a.m. and finals start at 6:00 p.m.
