Pasternack Named All-New England By NEWISA

Worcester, Mass. – Clark University senior striker Janelle Pasternack (West Brookfield, Mass.) wrapped up her standout career with a selection to the New England Women's Intercollegiate Soccer Association (NEWISA) second-team it was announced recently.

Pasternack's nod is the first for the Cougars since Megan O'Rourke (third-team) and Joanna Clark (first-team) each earned the honor following the 2010 season.

A first-team All-NEWMAC pick as well, Pasternack had a stellar 2013 campaign for the 5-13 Scarlet and White, finishing with team highs in goals (8) and points (18).

She was named the league's offensive player of the week back in October after scoring a pair of goals in a 4-0 win over Elms, snapping the Cougars' six-match losing streak.

In her final collegiate contest, she fired 11 shots, finding the back of the net on two occasions, including the game-winner in the 72nd minute, lifting Clark to a 2-1 win over Emerson.

The honor for Pasternack marks the second time in her career in which she has received postseason accolades. She was named second-team all-conference in 2012 after totaling six goals and 17 points as a junior.

Pasternack finishes her career with 72 games played and ranked seventh on the school's all-time list in points (48), eighth in goals scored (17) and fifth in assists (14).
